Press Release: Campfire Kinship Launches New Anthology Project

 Calgary, Alberta; November 4, 2025

Gayathri Shukla of Campfire Kinship, in collaboration with Dr. Laleh Behjat of University of Calgary, has been awarded a grant from Calgary Arts Development to launch Feminist Fantasy League, a print-based storytelling project that invites women and gender-diverse participants to reimagine bold futures. Calgary Arts Development’s support for individual artists is part of its broader mission to nurture creativity, equity, and vibrancy within the city’s arts ecosystem.

Feminist Fantasy League will result in a published book of original autofiction stories inspired by lived experiences, and shaped through a creative writing process. Contributors will be selected through an open call and invited to participate in a free three-part community workshop series, facilitated by Campfire Kinship’s founder, Gayathri Shukla. Contributors will receive editorial support and an opportunity to be considered for publication in anthology, expected to be released in 2026.

We encourage those interested to read our call for expressions of interest and apply by November 30, 2025. Details and submission form are available at: www.campfirekinship.com/storytelling-impact/book-2/
